Your Questions, Answered
Welcome to Veluna Wellness™—where your transformative wellness journey begins. Below are answers to frequently asked questions to help you prepare for your personalized session.
The Approach
-
Your session is intentionally slow, attuned, and nervous-system centered.
We’ll begin with a brief check-in to clarify intentions, boundaries, and any physical or emotional considerations for the day. From there, you’ll receive a customized bodywork experience that may include massage, craniosacral techniques, energy work, and subtle ritual elements, depending on the session you’ve chosen.
At Veluna Wellness, sessions are not performance-based or outcome-forced. The focus is regulation, presence and deep listening to the body.
-
My work prioritizes healing and relaxation over intensity. I use a balanced, intuitive pressure that supports release without overwhelming the body. Sessions typically involve light to firm pressure, guided by your comfort and physiological response.
This practice may not be ideal if you’re seeking aggressive or high-pressure massage, but it is well-suited for those looking for meaningful, long-term relief and nervous system support.
-
Yes, but not by forcing them.
What most people call “knots” are usually a combination of overworked muscle fibers, fascial restriction, and nervous system holding. My work emphasizes healing and nervous system regulation rather than intensity. I utilize slow, focused techniques to invite these areas to soften without overwhelming the body.
I don’t aggressively chase pain. Real release happens when the body feels safe and supported, which often leads to more lasting relief than forceful, high-pressure work.
-
Restoring nervous system safety and unwinding chronic muscular holding patterns is a cumulative process rather than an isolated event.
For long-term tension, burnout, or systemic stress, an initial series of consistent appointments (such as bi-weekly or monthly) is highly effective for establishing a sustainable baseline of physical and energetic ease. As your system begins to retain the release and recognize the cues of safety, we dynamically transition to a maintenance schedule that supports your lifestyle. The goal is never to create dependency but to act as a supportive, long-term partner in your well-being.
-
Every session is adapted to where you are, not where you think you should be.
You don’t need prior experience, special knowledge or spiritual language to receive this work. For those new to holistic or nervous-system-based bodywork, I take care to move at a pace that feels safe, supportive and accessible.
We’ll begin with a brief check-in so I can understand your physical needs and any emotional or subtle aspects you’re open to exploring. From there, the session unfolds intuitively. I’m always happy to explain what I’m doing and why, helping demystify the work so you feel informed and at ease rather than overwhelmed.
The intention is not to educate at you but to support clarity, comfort and trust as you experience the work in your own way.
Modalities & Customization
-
No. Every session is entirely personalized. The foundational work operates through presence, touch and nervous system regulation. You do not need to align with any specific concepts for your body to experience deep release.
If you prefer a straightforward, anatomically focused approach centered solely on physical tension and muscular relief, that is exactly how we will direct your session. You can share your preferences in the intake form or when we begin, and I will meet you exactly where your comfort lies.
-
Yes. I offer standalone sessions that focus primarily on craniosacral work, somatic presence and subtle, elemental energy rather than traditional massage.
These sessions are non-invasive, do not require undressing and are designed for times when your body requires gentleness, deep rest or emotional containment, rather than physical manipulation. Touch is exceptionally light, static and always clearly communicated. The focus is on clearing static and supporting your body's natural rhythms so your system can come back to itself with ease. You are always welcome to ask questions or reset physical boundaries at any point.
-
Sessions are highly customized and may incorporate a variety of sensory tools designed to support grounding and nervous system regulation. Depending on your preferences and what your body needs that day, this can include aromatics, warm stones, specific crystals (like black obsidian, selenite or rose quartz), weighted lap pads, eye masks, or thermal contrast techniques like hot and cold towels.
Every tool is entirely optional and introduced with clear intention. If you have sensitivities to specific scents, smoke, temperatures, or sounds, we will discuss that during your initial intake check-in so your environment feels completely comfortable and supportive.
-
Veluna Wellness does not offer prenatal massage or pregnancy-specific bodywork. If you are currently pregnant, I am happy to provide referrals to local specialists who focus exclusively on prenatal care.
If you are recovering from a recent surgery, injury, or acute medical event, you may book a session once you have been fully cleared by your physician. Because techniques like Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and Craniosacral Therapy (CST) impact fluid dynamics and tissue restriction, a doctor's release is required to ensure bodywork is safe for your specific stage of recovery. We will discuss any necessary anatomical adjustments during your initial check-in.
Booking & Logistics
-
No. Veluna Wellness operates on an all-inclusive pricing structure. The rate you see is the final price of your session. As a clinical somatic practice, the best compliment or "tip" I can receive is your continued health, a return booking or a referral to someone you care about.
-
I do not accept health insurance directly. However because I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist performing therapeutic, anatomically-grounded bodywork, I can provide you with an itemized receipt (superbill) upon request, which you may submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
Many clients are successfully able to use their Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards for payment. I recommend checking with your specific provider beforehand to ensure somatic bodywork and massage therapy are covered under your plan.
-
Booking is done exclusively online through the booking link on this site. You’ll be guided to select your session type, date and time. To simplify your visit and allow the focus to remain entirely on your experience, I require full payment at the time of booking.
If you have questions before booking, you’re welcome to reach out via email: selene@velunawellness.com.

All sessions take place at my private Santa Fe studio, located at 943 Don Cubero Ave, Suite A (tucked behind the duplex on the right-hand side).
Veluna Wellness is strictly a location-based practice; I do not offer mobile or out-call services. The studio is intentionally designed to be a quiet, grounded and contained sanctuary where your nervous system can settle fully without outside distractions. Detailed arrival and parking instructions are sent directly in your session confirmation email.
Policies & Preparation
-
To honor the preparation and energy I bring to your session, I maintain a firm cancellation policy:
Individual Sessions: I require at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel.
Cancellations with 24+ hours' notice: You may choose between a full refund or a credit toward a future session.
Cancellations or reschedules with less than 24 hours' notice (or no-shows): These are non-refundable and not eligible for credit or schedule changes.
Group Rituals: Due to the intimate 3-seat capacity, all ritual registrations are final sale. If you cannot attend, your seat is fully transferable to a friend. Simply email me their name prior to the start time.
Late Arrivals: To preserve the sanctuary of the space, sessions must end at their scheduled time. If you arrive late, your session may be shortened to ensure I remain on schedule for the next guest and the full fee still applies.
-
Come as you are. Comfortable clothing is encouraged, and you may want to avoid heavy meals right before your session.
Hydration beforehand is helpful and giving yourself a few quiet minutes before arriving can make the transition smoother. After your session, allow space for rest or integration when possible.
-
If you have an active fever, chills, a contagious rash, or an acute respiratory infection, please do not come to your session. Massaging an active infection can worsen your symptoms and compromises the sanitation of the studio.
If you must cancel at the last minute due to sudden, acute illness, the standard non-refundable fee applies, but your payment will be converted into a one-time credit to reschedule once you are fully recovered. This keeps the studio healthy while ensuring your investment isn't lost.
Still have questions? Feel free to reach out. I’m happy to clarify anything and help you feel confident and supported before booking.
