Meet Selene: Your Guide to Personalized Healing

As the heart and guiding force behind Veluna Wellness, Selene Awen brings a deep passion for therapeutic massage and a holistic approach to healing. Her journey into bodywork began during a transformative 6-week retreat in Thailand, where she experienced the profound interconnectedness of the body and mind. Immersing herself in mindfulness practices, meditation and bodywork techniques like qi gong and yoga, Selene discovered Thai-inspired massage and developed a keen interest in refining her approach to licensed, therapeutic bodywork.

Inspired by the calm, balanced demeanor of the Thai people, Selene learned the power of integrating physical and emotional well-being—something often overlooked in Western medicine, where physical symptoms are frequently treated in isolation. This wisdom emphasized that authentic wellness involves treating the body as a whole system, where physical health, emotional balance and mental clarity are all interconnected.

Selene graduated from Phoenix College earning an A.A.S. degree in Therapeutic Massage with additional courses at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. She further honed her expertise with specialized certifications in myofascial release (MFR), manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), cranial sacral therapy (CST), lomi-lomi inspired massage, oncology massage, and energy work—learn more about each of these modalities here. With nearly 4 years of experience, she is dedicated to using her knowledge of these varied techniques to address physical discomfort, ease stress and help her clients achieve emotional balance. Each session is tailored to meet the unique needs of her clients, offering a personalized journey toward physical relief, relaxation and overall well-being.

A Thoughtful, Intentional Approach to Your Care

My approach goes beyond providing just another massage treatment. I’m committed to creating a space where you can experience meaningful, lasting change. I believe that physical pain, emotional stress, and mental clarity are all intricately connected. Achieving optimal health means treating the body as an integrated whole, where physical discomfort often reflects broader systemic imbalances.

Each session begins with a comprehensive assessment of your musculoskeletal and neurological needs. I use techniques like myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, lomi lomi, and craniosacral therapy to release tension, improve circulation, and restore proper alignment. These methods not only address chronic pain, muscle stiffness, and inflammation but also help restore emotional balance and mental clarity. By integrating mindful practices and energy work, I support your emotional well-being, addressing energetic blockages that contribute to stress or cognitive fog.

While massage therapy is the foundation of Veluna Wellness, my vision extends beyond individual treatments. I see this space evolving into a destination for full-spectrum transformation, supporting your physical health, emotional resilience, and mental well-being. In the future, I look forward to offering additional services like yoga classes and herbalism workshops, all designed to foster personal growth and sustained healing.

I believe positive change begins within—how we think, process emotions, and care for our bodies. Veluna Wellness is dedicated to empowering you to take control of your health through a holistic approach that aligns the mind, body, and spirit. As the brand grows, I aim to be a trusted resource for anyone seeking a comprehensive wellness experience, building a community focused on whole-body renewal and lasting well-being.

“I didn’t build Veluna from a place of perfection.

I built it from the ruins…

From burnout.

From trauma.

From silence.

And from the decision to finally make space for the kind of healing I never had—slow, sacred, and mine.”
